We all know what it feels like getting reeled in by aromas wafting through the air, or tempted by an impulse purchase at a cash register…I struggle with this daily: wanting food that I know is not good for me. It’s mostly a mental block; I want something because I know I shouldn’t have it. I decided to set up monthly challenges for myself to see how my body, mind, and mood will react to giving up something that I like to indulge in, and how my body reacts to eating something that I am usually reluctant to cook with. I will give everyone a weekly account of what’s happening as a result of my challenge.
My rules: If I slip up, I start all over again.
Here’s the hope: That I realize- I don’t have to have that bar of chocolate or that bag of popcorn to have a happy and stress-free day. This is also my way of disciplining my eating habits: it is a commitment to my readers and to myself that I will complete these challenges. I also learn to channel some will power and kick temptation in the nards!
